Riverwood Healthcare Center is hosting a cancer support group that meets monthly on the fourth Wednesdays, 2:30 to 4:00 p.m., from April through November. The group will meet in the hospital’s Support Services wing in room E.
The group is open to women with any type of cancer. Women who have been newly diagnosed with cancer or been cancer survivors for many years can all benefit from attending.
For each monthly meeting, there will be a specific topic and speaker. The first meeting on April 24 will feature Dawn Harcey, RN/Clinical GI Coordinator, on reflux disease symptoms, testing and treatment. Upcoming topics will include mindfulness, nutrition/label reading, navigating mental health, supplements update, back health, and essential oils.
The meeting time will include time to share experiences and support one another, to listen and learn. No registration is required and light refreshments will be served.
