Two family physicians coming to Riverwood

Riverwood Healthcare Center is pleased to announce that two family medicine physicians, Dr. Erik Bostrom and Dr. Melissa Herbranson, will join its medical staff in the fall.

Dr. Bostrom recently completed a University of Minnesota Family Medicine residency in St. Cloud and is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School, Minneapolis. He earned a bachelor’s degree in physics from Bethel University in St. Paul. Growing up in Mora, Minn., he is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and a wide range of recreational activities that Aitkin County offers.

Dr. Herbranson is completing a University of Minnesota Family Medicine residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul this summer. A graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School, Duluth, she earned her bachelor’s degree in cellular biology and genetics at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. Growing up, she lived in several communities in Minnesota and Wisconsin and has family ties and connections in Aitkin County.

“We are thrilled to welcome two more family physicians to expand access to primary care,” says Chad Cooper, Riverwood chief executive officer. “Both Erik and Melissa bring a strong dedication to rural healthcare and will be wonderful additions to the communities we serve.”

Dr. Bostrom will join Riverwood on Aug. 29, and Dr. Herbranson will do so on Oct. 3. Both physicians will see patients primarily at Riverwood’s Aitkin clinic.
