Riverwood welcomes two new managers

Mike Kongsjord

Riverwood Healthcare Center is pleased to welcome Mike Kongsjord as Information Technology director and Spencer Page as Pharmacy manager.

As director of Riverwood’s Information Technology department, Mike Kongsjord oversees a staff of six and all IT-related functions for the Aitkin hospital and its clinics in Aitkin, Garrison and McGregor.

With nearly 30 years experience working in the IT field, Kongsjord is very familiar with Riverwood from his position working as chief information security officer for Sisu Healthcare IT Solutions, which has had a vendor relationship with Riverwood and other rural area health systems for many years. Most recently, Kongsjord worked as an external IT resource specialist to rural healthcare facilities while employed by St. Luke’s Health Care System in Duluth.

Kongsjord has a bachelor’s degree in management from the College of St. Scholastica, Duluth.

A native of Grand Rapids, Minn., Kongsjord is an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoys spending time with his family.

“I like the overall challenges of maintaining technology because it changes constantly,” Kongsjord said. “I’ve enjoyed working in the health care field and was attracted to the spirit of collaboration and support between our talented IT team and the friendly healthcare professionals here at Riverwood.”

Spencer Page

After 12 years of pharmacy management in the retail sector, Spencer Page stepped into the role of pharmacy manager at Riverwood on Oct. 1. He oversees four pharmacists, five pharmacy technicians, one clerk, and numerous casual employees who work at the hospital in Aitkin and at Riverwood’s pharmacy in Garrison.

Page completed his doctor of pharmacy degree at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota, his home state. Page worked for Lewis Drug pharmacy in Sioux Falls, Thrifty White pharmacy in Marshall, Minn., and most recently for Walmart pharmacy in Baxter.

“I’ve enjoyed making the transition from retail to health care pharmacy management,” Page said. “At Riverwood my coworkers feel like family. The teamwork here is fantastic.”

Page and his wife Jenny have four children. They enjoy all things outdoors including hunting and fishing.
