Riverwood Healthcare Center is pleased to announce the appointment of David W. Meyer and Kathleen Ryan to the Governing Board of Directors.

“On behalf of our governing board, I’m pleased to welcome David and Kathleen, two long-term Aitkin area residents whose familiarity with the communities we serve is a great asset,” says Riverwood CEO Chad Cooper. “They bring a combination of business and financial expertise that will be vital in guiding our organization in the years ahead.”

David Meyer has worked in the propane and natural gas industries for 41 years. As owner and CEO of Gas Training & Development LLC since 1991, he has delivered more than 1,000 presentations and technical training sessions, on six continents, relative to company and employee development. As a member of the National Fire Protection Association and the International Codes Council, he contributes to the development process of codes and regulations devoted to improving the safety of the industries workers and the users of these energy products.

“It is my sincere hope that as a board member for Riverwood Healthcare Center, my education and experience in company policy and procedure development and employee training can assist in further improving the existing outstanding high quality of care provided to all it serves,” Meyer says. “I look forward to working with the board members, leaders and all involved to further strengthen Riverwood.

Meyer lives with his wife, Deb, in the 100-year-old home built by his grandparents, where they raise Corriente cattle for roping and grass-fed beef. Their three daughters and sons-in-law and four grandchildren all live within 100 miles and enjoy camping along with numerous outdoor activities.

Since 2001, Kathleen Ryan has served in the role of fiscal supervisor for Aitkin County, where she has worked since 1997. She supervises the accounting department for health and human services and oversees management of a large health and human services budget.

A member of St. James Catholic Church, Ryan helps with Sunday school classes. Formerly, she was active with Aitkin Women of Today in planning activities to benefit families and children in the community.

”I am honored to serve on the Riverwood Governing Board,” Ryan says. “Our community is very lucky to have such great medical care and I am excited to be a part of it.”

Ryan lives with her husband Tim, and two children, Elizabeth (15) and Johnathan (12), who attend Aitkin High School.
