Jeff Temple, Nurse Practitioner, Orthopaedics
Riverwood Healthcare Center is pleased to welcome a new member to its orthopaedic team in Aitkin, Nurse Practitioner Jeff Temple.
With a wide array of clinical and surgical experience, Temple has worked in the orthopaedics field for more than 35 years, beginning his career as a surgical technologist in 1987. He has advanced training and experience in sports medicine, bone fractures, arthritis and general orthopaedics, as well as wound care.
Previously, Temple worked with Bigfork Valley Clinic and Hospital, Northern Pines Orthopaedic Clinic in Grand Rapids, Minn., and the Bone & Joint Center of Excellence in North Dakota.
Temple earned his master’s degree for Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner from the University of Mary in 2001. He graduated from the University of North Dakota with honors in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Temple joins Physician Assistant Erin Mason in seeing patients at Riverwood’s specialty clinic in Aitkin Monday through Friday. They work closely to coordinate patient care with three orthopaedic surgeons–Dr. Erik Severson, Dr. Jeffrey Klassen and Dr. Susan Moen—all with extensive experience and advanced fellowship training in orthopaedic surgery.
Temple said his personal approach to orthopaedic care is to allow adequate time and listen to the patient for devising a mutually agreed upon plan of care toward recovery or prompt referral based on current treatment guidelines and recommendations. He feels this approach is vital to patients’ successful recovery and return to enjoying activities with family and friends.
Away from work, Temple enjoys spending time with family, fishing and relaxing by the campfire.
