Riverwood CEO to leave for new position

Chad Cooper, chief executive officer of Riverwood Healthcare Center since 2013, has accepted a new position to lead Central Minnesota Diagnostics, Inc. (CMDI) as its president and CEO, effective April 2, 2018. He will leave Riverwood in early February 2018 with Chief Operating Officer Cindi Baker assuming the role of interim CEO.

“During his 4 ½ years here, Chad has helped lead Riverwood forward on many key strategic initiatives, including the recent groundbreaking of a $14.9 million Aitkin clinic expansion project, as well as achievement of national recognition as one of the Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals in the United States,” said Chad Gross, chair of Riverwood’s Governing Board of Directors.  “He will leave Riverwood well positioned for the future and will work with our board and leadership team to ensure a smooth and seamless transition with his eventual successor.”

Riverwood’s governing board is working with a search firm to identify CEO candidates with a goal of filling the position by early summer.
