Riverwood adds director to senior leadership team

Riverwood Healthcare Center announced an addition to its senior leadership team.  It has named Liz Dean as Director of Strategy and Marketing.

As manager for the marketing and public relations department for Riverwood for the past 13 years, Dean has promoted and developed Riverwood’s image and brand, showcasing the organization’s outstanding health care services and great patient outcomes. She spent her first four years at Riverwood as education and wellness coordinator. Previously, she served as health educator for Aitkin County Health and Human Services for three years.

“Over the past 17 years, Liz has committed her time, energy and resources to champion efforts to promote and develop the Riverwood brand here locally and throughout the region,” said Todd Sandberg, Riverwood CEO.  “Her expertise and insight on marketing and strategy is vital to our senior leadership team as we continue grow rapidly as an organization and pursue a number of new initiatives.”

In addition to continuing to overseeing marketing efforts for Riverwood, Dean will lead business development and support strategies for growth, physician partnerships and collaborative ventures with senior leaders and department managers.  She will analyze market trends, looking for opportunities and risks, and work with the Riverwood leadership team to develop strategies to respond to external issues.  She will assess and make recommendations for existing and future services and ventures to support the organization’s strategy and business objectives.

Dean earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Capella University. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health from the University of Minnesota, Duluth.

She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development.  She is a graduate of the Blandin Community Leadership Program. Currently, she serves as a director on the McGregor School Board.
