For the second consecutive year, Riverwood Healthcare Center is one of 155 hospitals nationwide given a five-star rating based on patient satisfaction from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS).
The hospital rating system, launched in 2015, offers a star rating based on 11 publicly reported measures, including nurse and doctor communication, responsiveness of hospital staff, pain management and cleanliness.
Patient comments are compiled from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey, which assesses patient experiences. The current ratings are based on patient survey comments gathered by CMS from April 1, 2014 and March 31, 2015.
“It is an honor to once again rank among the top 7 percent of hospitals nationwide based on positive patient experiences at Riverwood,” says Chad Cooper, chief executive officer. “Our delivery of high quality care and responsiveness to patient needs is made possible by the outstanding teamwork and dedication of everyone at Riverwood!”
