Suicide prevention awareness, resources

September is recognized as National Suicide Prevention Month.  The goal is to bring more awareness to the issues that surround suicide and break down barriers for people to seek support.  Raising awareness about mental health needs and resources that are readily available is an everyday necessity for our community.  With this in mind, Riverwood Healthcare Center is promoting resources that are available to the community to increase knowledge and understanding of suicide and suicidal thoughts.

These community resources for suicide prevention are currently available:

  • Local Crisis and Referral Service Line, 24 hours a day 7 days a week: 218-828-4357 or 1-800-462-5525.

As a community, we can make a difference by starting with our education about suicide and resources to prevent suicide.  It is through this education that we can create a community of support for those who are struggling with their mental health.
