Riverwood Healthcare Center is pleased to announce the promotion of Dan Schletty to Chief Ambulatory Officer (CAO).
In his new role as CAO, Schletty will provide strategic leadership for Riverwood’s ambulatory and outpatient services, working closely with clinical and operational teams to enhance access to care, strengthen service delivery, and advance patient-centered care.
Schletty joined Riverwood in 2013 as a Health & Wellness Coach and has steadily advanced through the organization, serving as Population Health Program Manager from 2017 to 2019 and Director of Ambulatory Services since 2019. Throughout his tenure, he has played a key role in improving care delivery, enhancing operational performance, and supporting innovative programs that strengthen patient outcomes and enhance the overall patient experience.
“Dan’s promotion reflects not only his accomplishments, but also the trust and respect he has earned throughout our organization,” said Ken Westman, Chief Executive Officer. “From his beginnings at Riverwood as a Health & Wellness Coach to his leadership as Director of Ambulatory Services, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to serving others, developing strong teams, and advancing our organization. Dan brings strategic vision, operational excellence, and genuine care for people. His experience, leadership, and deep understanding of our organization will serve Riverwood well as we continue to meet the evolving healthcare needs of our communities.”
Following his appointment, Schletty shared his perspective on leadership and the opportunity ahead.
“High-quality healthcare is achieved when clinical excellence and operational excellence work together,” said Schletty. “Leadership is not defined by authority, but by the ability to empower people, remove barriers, foster trust, and create an environment where individuals and teams can do their best work. I am honored by the opportunity to serve Riverwood in this new role and grateful for the trust our leadership team has placed in me. Since joining Riverwood in 2013, I have had the privilege of working alongside an incredible team of healthcare professionals whose dedication, compassion, and commitment to our patients and communities inspire me every day. The support, mentorship, and collaboration I’ve experienced throughout my career have helped shape my leadership journey. I look forward to building on the strong foundation we’ve created together and helping shape the next chapter of Riverwood’s growth while ensuring exceptional care remains close to home.”
Schletty earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2007 and a Master of Health Administration with a specialization in Healthcare Operations from Capella University in 2016. He also holds certifications as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and Certified Rural Health Clinic Professional (CRHCP).
Outside of work, Schletty enjoys spending time with family, fishing, and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings.
