Jake Heggem, PharmD
Riverwood Healthcare Center is pleased to announce that Pharmacist Jake Heggem is the new manager of its retail pharmacy in McGregor.
Heggem has worked in pharmacy roles since 2011 when he began working as a pharmacy technician while attending college. He then worked as a pharmacy intern while pursuing his pharmacy degree and most recently worked as a pharmacist for Grand Itasca Hospital and Clinic’s retail pharmacy.
His education background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences from the University of Minnesota, Crookston, and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
Heggem describes his approach to pharmacy services, “As a rural community pharmacist, I believe in providing accessible, compassionate, and personalized care rooted in trust and genuine connection. I strive to be a reliable health care resource, offering not just medications, but guidance, advocacy, and support for the well-being of every patient I serve. My mission is to meet people where they are and care for them with both clinical expertise and human understanding.”
Heggem enjoys fishing and outdoor activities with his young son, Calvin, and partner, Jessica.
The Riverwood Pharmacy in McGregor is located at 241 West Highway 210. Contact the pharmacy at 218-768-4165. Pharmacy hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m.; and closed on Sundays.
In addition to prescription and over-the-counter drugs, the pharmacy offers gift items, including clothing and Minnesota gear, baby items, seasonal and home decorations, games and more.
