Riverwood Healthcare Center has formed a Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC), which held its first meeting on April 19.

The nine PFAC members include Ardy Akerson, Judy Blomberg, Deb Clark, Diane Everson, Bill and Carla Hakes, Dawn Kellen, Arnold Reinhard and Bea Roscoe.

“We are thrilled with this team of patient and family advisors,” says Kristine Layne, Riverwood’s chief nursing officer.  “They bring unique perspectives as Riverwood patients and community members who are committed to helping us improve the patient care experience here.”

This advisory group will meet monthly and work in partnership with Riverwood to help make its services more responsive to the needs of patients and families.  The members of this council will have the opportunity to share their unique perspective about care experiences at Riverwood, and then partner with staff to improve patient care.

In addition to Layne, other Riverwood staff members on the Council include Val Thompson, social worker, and Jayne Anderson, director of Quality. As staff liaison, Thompson will facilitate the monthly meetings.
