Golf charity event to raise funds for cancer care

Riverwood Healthcare Center and Foundation invite the public to the annual Golf Charity Event. Gather with family or friends for the 18-hole tournament golf charity event on Friday, July 12, at the beautiful Minnesota National Golf Course in McGregor.

Proceeds from this year’s event will support Riverwood cancer care programs. These funds provide some relief to cancer patients and their families, helping them experience better health and well-being through Riverwood’s new Cancer Care Fund, Zachary Johnson Kids with Cancer Fund, and Emily’s Gift.

Minnesota National is surrounded by abundant wildlife and plants native to Minnesota. Each hole has meticulously maintained fairways, tees and greens, and Ohio white sand bunkers. The course is located at 23247 480th Street, 10 miles north of McGregor.

The event will feature a 10 a.m. shotgun start for the 18-hole golf charity event. This fun-filled day includes a breakfast bar and golf contests, wrapping up at 3 p.m. with the 19th hole taco bar and drinks and prizes awarded.

Some new event highlights this year are a Best Dressed Team Award, an Untraditional Putting Contest that includes putting with a hockey stick, a pool cue or a baseball bat; and on-course challenges contests where you need cash to participate. Not a great golfer? The last place team wins golf lessons with the Minnesota National Golf pro.

Foundation Director Tanya Pietz comments, “We are thrilled to gather again with community members and Riverwood staff members for our 2024 event at Minnesota National. The funds raised support a cause, cancer care and support services, that that can make a big positive difference for so many families in our community.”

This event is generously sponsored by Kraus-Anderson Construction, Paulbeck’s Wildcraft Meats, and DSGW Architecture.  For more information or to register and pay online, go to  and click on Foundation Events.
