Gala offers fine dining, entertainment for health care cause

Dancing to 1950’s tunes at 2016 Riverwood Gala

During the fall harvest season, what could be better than a delicious, locally grown meal served up in an attractive venue. Riverwood Healthcare is offering just that at its annual Gala on Sat., Sept. 30, at the 40 Club Banquet Center in Aitkin. SEE INVITATION

This festive event, which begins at 5:30 p.m., will feature a fine dining “farm to table” meal with food contributed by local farmers and producers in Aitkin County.

Timmy Haussner, originally from McGregor, will entertain gala guests on guitar and vocals. Drawing on country, rock and pop music, he’s played thousands of shows and venues all over the United States. See more at http://www.timmyhaus.com/

Tickets are $100 for individuals and $1,000 per table for organization or group sponsorships. A variety of sponsorship opportunities are available as well. Adding to the fun of the evening will be silent and live auctions and games of chance.

The Growing Together theme reflects the name of Riverwood’s capital campaign to raise funds for its clinic expansion and renovation project now underway in Aitkin. Proceeds from the gala will support the new kidney care and dialysis center to open in Aitkin in Spring 2019. CentraCare Health will operate the new center under the direction of Dr. Ben Parker, nephrologist.

“We’re excited to take a fresh approach to the meal this year by tapping our local farmers for delicious, healthy foods,” said Katie Nelson, Riverwood Foundation director. “Many people have expressed their support for this year’s cause to help fund our new kidney care and dialysis center. We look forward to serving kidney care patients in Aitkin County and surrounding communities closer to home.”

Nelson added: “If you are unable to attend the gala, please consider making a tax-deductible donation. Each year generous support from local businesses and individual donors plays a huge role in the success of this fun-filled event.”
