Riverwood welcomes Dr. Joan Lunzer to Internal Medicine Team

Riverwood Healthcare Center is pleased to welcome Dr. Lunzer to its team of providers, where she will join the Primary Care team as an Internal Medicine provider. 

Dr. Lunzer completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota’s College of Biological Sciences, earning a degree in Biochemistry and graduating magna cum laude. She went on to receive her medical degree from the University of Minnesota and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. 

“I approach every patient visit with the goal of listening carefully to each patient’s concerns and addressing them thoughtfully.” said Dr. Lunzer. 

Dr. Lunzer previously served as a locum provider at Riverwood, and the organization is pleased to continue her involvement in caring for patients in the region as a permanent member of its provider team.

Dr. Lunzer is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, and the Minnesota Medical Association. 

Outside of her medical practice, she enjoys raising grass-fed beef, walking her dog, traveling, and listening to audiobooks—especially mysteries. She also enjoys fishing when conditions are right and values spending time with her four grandchildren in Fargo. Dr. Lunzer has three children who live in Chicago, Fargo, and Denver.
