Riverwood Healthcare Center is excited to welcome Victoria Klaphake, MSW, LGSW, as a behavioral health therapist to its Integrated Behavioral Health provider team. In her role as an outpatient therapist, Klaphake will work with individuals experiencing a wide range of concerns, including mood disorders, anxiety, sexual health, and relational challenges.
Klaphake brings a broad range of experience in behavioral health, crisis advocacy, and community mental health. Her background includes work in gender-based violence advocacy, healthcare social work within both hospital and insurance settings, and providing community-based outpatient mental health services.
“We are pleased to welcome Victoria to the Riverwood team,” said Cindi Baker, Chief Operating Officer. “Her diverse background and compassionate, patient-centered approach strengthen our Integrated Behavioral Health services and expand access to high-quality mental health care for our community.”
Klaphake earned her bachelor’s degree in social work from Winona State University, where she completed her undergraduate practicum at Gundersen Health System. She went on to earn her master’s degree in social work from Saint Mary’s University and completed her graduate practicum at CARE Counseling.
“I aim to create a supportive and safe space where people are free to be themselves and share their lived experiences without judgment or fear while working through some of life’s hardest moments,” Klaphake said. “I recognize that each person’s life experiences give them a unique lens through which they view and process the world. I strive to honor those experiences and meet individuals with empathy, validation, kindness, compassion, and connection.”
Outside of work, Klaphake and her husband enjoy living in the north woods, where they are developing a hobby farm and spending time outdoors exploring the area’s abundant woods, trails, and waterways. Her personal interests include gardening, reading, cooking, and traveling.
