Riverwood Healthcare Center has earned Lab Accreditation from Joint Commission, an independent, evidence-based standards setting organization that sets the benchmark for safe, high-quality patient care through healthcare accreditation. This accomplishment formally recognizes Riverwood’s ongoing commitment to meeting rigorous performance standards and delivering the safest, highest quality care to its patients.
Riverwood underwent a rigorous onsite survey February 3 – 5, 2026. During the visit, a Joint Commission surveyor assessed compliance across key areas with laboratory accreditation standards related to patient safety, quality systems, infection prevention, personnel qualifications, equipment maintenance, and performance improvement.
Wendy Franke, Chief Quality Officer, comments, “Achieving Joint Commission Laboratory Accreditation reflects our team’s ongoing commitment to quality, accuracy, and patient safety. This recognition affirms that our processes meet rigorous national standards and, most importantly, that our patients can trust the care and results they receive every day.”
A Joint Commission surveyor conducted on-site observations and interviews to identify performance strengths and opportunities for continued improvement. With decades of expertise and a data-driven accreditation process, the Joint Commission helps ensure healthcare organizations adhere to leading quality and safety practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and commitment to better patient care.
