Helping patients breathe in an emergency situation is vital for our Emergency Department staff. An upgraded GlideScope tool is proving invaluable in supporting patient care in both Riverwood’s Emergency and Surgery departments.
The GlideScope is a tool used in the OR and ER for placement of breathing tubes for patients that need one, either in a planned scenario such as general anesthesia, or in cases of medical emergencies or traumatic injuries affecting one’s airway. This technology offers a remarkably clear view of the patient’s anatomy, thus enabling clinical and medical staff members to accurately place breathing tubes.
GlideScope from Verathon is the trusted leader in airway management products for video laryngoscopy, bronchoscopy, and airway visualization.
“This equipment upgrade brings the Riverwood Emergency Department the most recent, highest quality, and greatest functioning version of Verathon’s signature video laryngoscopy line,” said Drew VanSanten, Riverwood’s Emergency Department manager. “This is one more tool that supports our ability to deliver outstanding care to our patients.”
