Riverwood Urologist Performs First Altaviva™ Procedure in Upper Midwest

Riverwood Healthcare Center is proud to announce that urologist Dr. Brandon Reynolds is the first to perform the Altaviva™ implant procedure in the upper Midwest.

The Altaviva™ device, developed by Medtronic, is an implantable tibial neurostimulation product designed to treat urge urinary incontinence (UUI) — a condition that causes uncontrolled leakage of urine. The minimally invasive procedure takes about 10 minutes, is performed under local anesthesia, and requires no imaging.

Dr. Reynolds completed specialized training in California to bring this innovative, FDA-approved treatment option to Riverwood patients. The Altaviva™  device offers long-lasting results, with a battery life of up to 15 years.

“For many patients, urge urinary incontinence can be life-altering — it limits activities, confidence, and quality of life,” said Dr. Brandon Reynolds, urologist at Riverwood Healthcare Center. “The Altaviva™ procedure gives us a new, minimally invasive way to restore control and freedom for patients who may have struggled for years with this condition.”

This new option reinforces Riverwood’s commitment to providing leading-edge, compassionate, and personalized care close to home.
