Riverwood Healthcare Center offers Telehealth Virtual Visits, allowing you to connect face-to-face with your healthcare providers from the convenience of home or work.  You may schedule video appointments for nearly all types of clinic care: including primary care, specialty care including general and orthopaedic surgery, therapy services, diabetes education, nutrition services and more. How does it work?
Call our regular appointment line and ask for a virtual visit.  Through a secure audio and video connection, you can see your provider and he or she can see you.  You will talk with your provider like you would if you were together in an exam room.

To enable a virtual video appointment, those with an internet connection can do this from anywhere. Devices that may be used include a smartphone, laptop, iPad or tablet with a web camera and microphone.  When you schedule a virtual visit, you will receive an email with a link to download a free Zoom app.

The virtual appointment is as private as if you were in the clinic. We use secure software to establish the two-way video and audio connection for each visit.

What if I need to be seen in person?
If during your virtual visit, your provider determines you should come in to be seen in the clinic, in-person visits can be scheduled at all three Riverwood clinics in Aitkin, Garrison and McGregor.

Phone visits are also available for those who may not have the technology needed for a video appointment.

How is it paid for?
Virtual visits are covered the same way an in-person visit is through most public and private insurance plans. For those who don’t have insurance coverage for telehealth virtual visits or who are uninsured, contact Riverwood’s financial counselor at 218-927-8284 for assistance on programs that may be able to help. If you are using a smartphone and not on a WiFi connection, data charges may apply.
