Lynn Gevik, APRN, Geriatric Nurse Practitioner
Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Lynn Gevick, A.P.R.N., recently joined Dr. David Goodwin, Cuyuna Regional Medical Center geriatrician, who took on the care of patients at Aicota Health Care Center and Aitkin Health Services in Aitkin from Dr. Chuck Schotzko when he retired from Riverwood Healthcare Center last year.
In 2007, Dr. Schotzko began coordinating a new model of integrated long-term care services in which a nurse coordinator—the role Lynn Gevick has moved into—works with a physician to coordinate the healthcare needs of nursing home patients, including scheduling of medical appointments outside the nursing home.
Gevick has 20 years of broad nursing experience working with adult and geriatric patients in skilled nursing facilities, skilled home care, and advanced-care assisted living environments.
An experienced healthcare professional, Gevick recently completed a master’s of science degree in Adult/Geriatric Advanced Practice Registered Nursing at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. She also holds a bachelor of science degree in nursing from St. Scholastica and an associate degree in nursing from Goegebic Community College in Ironwood, Mich.
