Dr. Skarp providers comprehensive family medicine care for patients of all ages at our Aitkin clinic. She brings more than 30 years of experience in the medical field to her practice.
Medical Interests: Dr. Skarp offers the full spectrum of family medicine, with a special focus on geriatrics/the elderly. She was a Geriatrics Scholar with the Department of Veterans Affairs, practicing at the VA community-based outpatient clinic in Brainerd for 11 years.
Personal philosophy/approach to care: “I practice evidence-based medicine, using the best available science, combined with the physician’s clinical experience and understanding of the patient’s values, to arrive at medical decisions.”
Family/Interests: Dr. Skarp and her husband, Dirk, have raised three adult children, two of whom are medical students.
