Riverwood Healthcare Community Auxiliary is committed to the support of Riverwood Healthcare Center through volunteer services, fundraising and the promotion of a positive image to the community. See our Community Auxiliary brochure for an overview of volunteer opportunities and fundraising activities.
The Auxiliary has several important fundraisers during the year including Lights of Love, quilt raffle, bake sales, and book sales.
Lights of Love
Since 1984, the Riverwood Auxiliary has annually honored and memorialized the loved ones of area residents with the Lights of Love Christmas tree lighting ceremony in the lobby of the hospital. In 2020, we will continue the tradition with a few COVID-19 related changes. The tree will be on display in the hospital lobby beginning November 1. The annual ceremony and “flipping of the switch” by the Lights of Love honorary chairperson will not be done this year, but the tree will be lit daily.
In past years, names of loved ones for whom lights have been purchased have been listed on a scroll placed next to the tree until the end of the year. In 2020, we will update this web page weekly with names of loved ones who have been honored and memorialized through December 31, 2020. Lights that decorate the Christmas tree can be purchased for a minimum donation of $5 in honor or in memory of someone. LIGHTS OF LOVE LIST/NAMES FOR 2020
To make a donation/purchase a light, print the LIGHTS OF LOVE form. Donation forms are also available at Riverwood in the lobby and cafeteria by the Lights of Love trees. Funds raised will be used to fulfill the Auxiliary’s ongoing commitment to the health and well-being of the community.
The Riverwood Auxiliary Gift Shop is currently closed due to proper COVID-19 precautions. Please contact Gift Shop Coordinator Stacy Mross-Smith email@example.com if you have a specific product request.
This unique boutique boasts a variety of gifts from stylish jewelry, scarves and purses to pottery and home décor items. With revenue from the Gift Shop and other fundraisers, the Auxiliary helps purchase equipment and material for Riverwood Healthcare Center and its clinics.
