Andrew Loveitt, DO

Dr. Andrew Loveitt is a board-certified general surgeon at Riverwood Healthcare Center in Aitkin. He is accredited by the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. In 2018, he completed a fellowship in advanced gastrointestinal, bariatric, and endoscopic surgery at the Minnesota Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIMIS). In 2020, he was named a Surgeon of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation.

As medical director of the Hernia Specialists of Minnesota, Dr. Loveitt specializes in hernia repair, including complex and recurrent cases. He is a member of the American Hernia Society and stays at the forefront of care through ongoing specialty training. His clinical interests include robotic-assisted repair, alternatives to traditional mesh, and reconstruction of large abdominal wall hernias. He also trains other surgeons in advanced robotic hernia techniques.

Dr. Loveitt is also a reflux specialist at Riverwood Healthcare Center, helping patients find relief from GERD, heartburn, and other esophageal conditions. He offers a full range of diagnostic and surgical treatment options, with a focus on minimally invasive approaches whenever possible.

Originally from Gorham, Maine, Dr. Loveitt earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and his Bachelor of Science from Juniata College. He completed his general surgery residency at Rowan University in Stratford, New Jersey, and has received numerous academic awards. Outside of work, he enjoys boating, skiing, and cycling.
