Benefits of Physical Therapy

Physical therapy offers more than recovery—it helps you regain independence and improve your quality of life. At Riverwood Healthcare, our therapy programs are designed to deliver lasting results. Here are some key benefits:

  • Pain Relief Without Surgery: Reduce or eliminate pain through targeted exercises and manual therapy techniques.
  • Improved Mobility and Flexibility: Restore movement and function so you can return to daily activities with confidence.
  • Faster Recovery After Surgery or Injury: Accelerate healing and prevent complications following orthopedic procedures or injuries.
  • Better Balance and Fall Prevention: Strengthen muscles and improve coordination to reduce the risk of falls.
  • Management of Chronic Conditions: Support long-term health for conditions like arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, and neurological disorders.
  • Enhanced Sports Performance: Recover from sports injuries and optimize strength and endurance for peak performance.

Orthopaedics

Your provider may recommend rehabilitation to help you heal after a sports injury or joint replacement of a hip or knee, or shoulder surgery. Our experienced physical therapists, many of whom have extensive education and training in therapy for orthopaedic conditions and injuries, will guide you through exercises designed to decrease pain and increase strength, flexibility, and balance. Pediatric Care

We can evaluate and treat children who have health-related conditions that limit their ability to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. We work with children to evaluate motor (movement) skills, the body’s core strength and control, and concerns related to weakness, balance or pain. We can help support normal movement patterns, address needs following injuries or surgery and improve overall conditioning for easier participation with family or peer activities.
