Riverwood News

Greetings from Todd Sandberg!

Riverwood’s values are what drew me to the job as your CEO. At first, it was just words on paper before I met all of you. Then I started seeing the ICURE values in action and was blown away. It didn’t take long for me to know this is the type of team and culture I want to be a part of. What WE have here is so unique and special. In recent weeks I have been receiving notes from happy patients, who share their stories and how they feel they are treated —like  they are part of the family or as a friend. We really CARE about our patients and each other and it shows in what we do every day and what our patients are saying.

First and foremost, it’s about how we make people feel. It’s the friendly greeting. The hope we offer. The relationship we build with them. And the tomorrows we promise.  Together, WE are improving health and saving lives!

This important work deserves recognition. I want us to celebrate all the things big and small WE do to make Riverwood the preferred place to go for healthcare in our region. We’re going to start by sharing stories around each ICURE value. See examples below shared at our Sept. 5th leadership meeting.

RESPECT/COMPASSIONAt Riverwood, we respect work/life balance. We understand that family is first for our staff. – Casey Johnson, Finance

EXCELLENCE/PASSIONRiverwood is always striving to do better, to move forward. And it shows…Top 20 Critical Access Hospital in USA for 2017 and 2018! – Angie Kjelstrom, HR

Please share your ICURE story with the rest of our team.  Arlene Wheaton, PR & Marketing, will be collecting stories ongoing for sharing in our staff newsletter.  You may send your story/comments to her at awheaton@riverwoodhealthcare.org

I’m very honored and grateful to be part of this team. WE are better together. Together, WE will!

McGregor Health & Wellness Fair a hit

Riverwood was a sponsor along with Aitkin County Public Health, ANGELS and other community organizations of the second annual McGregor Health and Wellness Fair on Sept. 26.  We had a great turnout again with nearly 40 vendors plus an outdoor Farmers Market.

Thank you to Liz Dean who served on the organizing committee, Nicole Cook, and Arlene Wheaton who helped staff the event, and Brenda Burdick and Renee Senich who staffed the RHCC booth.
