We are pleased to welcome Marlee Novak, a third-year medical student at the University of Minnesota Medical School, Duluth, who is participating in the Rural Physician Associate Program (RPAP). Join our Rehab team in celebrating Physical Therapy month. We will be highlighting our services and serving cake in the cafeteria over the noon hour on Tues, Oct 31.
Our physical therapists are licensed and offer years of experience in their specialty. Riverwood’s Rehab Department features the latest technology in exercise equipment, modalities and assessments. Specialty areas include Orthopaedic Rehab, Sports Medicine, Manual Therapy, Geriatric Health, Incontinence Program (Women and Men), Lymphedema Therapy, Concussion, Brain Injury Rehab, LSVT BIG (Parkinson’s). Common Diagnosis we treat: Neurological issues including dizziness and balance, lymphedema, back/neck pain, total joint replacements, sports injuries, and chronic pain.
Farm2Riverwood CORRECTION
The staff members who helped with food prep for our Oct 26th Farm2Riverwood meal were from our Patient Accounts & Business office (not HIS as noted in the email announcement). We apologize for this error.
Any Riverwood department who would like to help with food prep for a Farm2Riverwood meal should contact Lou Ann Carlson, Food Service manager. This extra support is greatly appreciated and a fun team-building activity.

Extra Perks for You & Your Family: * If you have insurance through Riverwood, your medication CO-PAY is $10 vs. $15 when you have your prescription filled at the Garrison Clinic Pharmacy. * Prescriptions are sent from the Garrison Pharmacy with the courier each day directly to the hospital pharmacy for EASY staff PICK UP.

Personnel Fund Quarterly Report
See the July-September 2017 Personnel Fund report showing expenses/fund balances for the employee Personnel Fund. This is funded via an optional staff payroll contribution to honor special events in the lives of Fund members, including births, marriages, illness/surgeries, memorials and retirements, as well as a gift for members who qualify for the Extreme Hardship Program.

Congrats to Zilverberg scholarship recipients!
Through the Zilverberg Health Education Endowment Fund, the Foundation distributed three scholarships for $2,500 each to three Riverwood employees, including Angie Phillips, registered nurse; Kelsie Engholm, licensed practical nurse; and Tia Ronnenberg, surgical technologist.
Another award of $2,000 was given to Riverwood’s hospital nursing services for continuing education modules.

Lights of Love
The Lights of Love program, which began in 1984, offers an opportunity to honor or memorialize a loved one on a Christmas tree with a formal lighting ceremony held just before the holiday season. This year’s ceremony will be held at Riverwood on Sun, Nov 19, at 1:00 pm in our main hospital/clinic lobby.
Our LoL Honorary Chair is Connie Gretschmann, Administration Assistant who will celebrate her 50th anniversary with RHCC in April 2018!
