Riverwood Healthcare Center welcomes Jon Rauen as clinic administrator, who started in this new position in mid-February. In this capacity Rauen will oversee and provide strategic and operational leadership to Riverwood’s clinics in Aitkin, McGregor and Garrison, which are home to 18 primary care providers and 13 campus-based surgeons and specialists.
Previously, Rauen served as the surgical services administrator at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center (CRMC) in Crosby, since 2006. During that time he was instrumental in leading the clinical and business operations of a progressive regional surgical services program. Prior to joining CRMC, he spent six years in various clinic leadership roles, including serving as the senior director of clinic operations for Columbia Park Medical Group, with multiple clinic locations in the northern Twin Cities; as well as serving as the clinic administrator for Ridgeview Clinics, as part of Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, Minn.
“We are pleased to welcome Jon to the Riverwood team and are excited about the tremendous leadership perspective he brings,” says Chad Cooper, Riverwood chief executive officer. “As we continue to invest in preparing our primary care and specialty clinics for the future, Jon will play an instrumental role in helping Riverwood respond to increasing consumer and payer expectations around outcomes, enhanced care coordination, service excellence and population health management, a role which I know that he openly embraces.”
Rauen earned his master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota, and a master of Business Administration degree from the Carlson School of Management. He has been active in the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Medical Group Management Association and various other professional associations. He’s been an active member of the community, recently serving as president of the Cuyuna Lakes Chamber.
“I’m so excited to be a part of such a high quality organization and being given the opportunity to join a fantastic team of providers and staff, which is what attracted me to this opportunity with Riverwood,” said Rauen. “I chose a career in health care because of the relationships, and reward of feeling a part of the community we serve.”
Jon Rauen grew up in Waconia, Minn., when the town was still considered a small rural, farm community. Currently residing in Deerwood, Jon and his wife, Becky, have two children and a chocolate lab. Jonah is a sophomore at Bemidji State University and Nate is a junior at Crosby Ironton High School. Rauen enjoys taking family trips, fishing, pheasant hunting, running and relaxing at home.
