The Covid-19 vaccine is now available locally, and Riverwood Healthcare Center will offer two public clinics where individuals may get both the flu and Covid shots the last week in October.
McGregor Clinic: Wed., Oct. 25, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.
Aitkin Clinic: Thurs., Oct. 26, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.
Appointments are required; call 218-927-2157.
Beginning the first week in November, the flu and Covid vaccines will be administered through a nurse visit appointment at all three Riverwood clinics in Aitkin, Garrison and McGregor. To schedule an appointment, call 218-927-2157.
Beginning Oct. 30, Riverwood pharmacies in Aitkin and McGregor will offer both the Covid and flu vaccines on a walk-in basis to those 18 years and older only.
For Covid-19 vaccination, Riverwood will administer the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for ages 6 months and older. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends eligible patients 6 months of age and older receive an updated mRNA COVID-19 vaccine in fall 2023 to protect against the potentially serious outcomes of Covid illness. Older adults and those with weakened immune systems are the most at risk.
