Riverwood to launch enhanced electronic health record

Riverwood Healthcare Center is excited to announce in January 2024 a transition to a new electronic health records (EHR) system.

This transition will allow Riverwood patients to be more active in their health care journey through an increased ability to manage multiple aspects of their health care online through their MyChart account.

Patients will have 24/7 access to schedule an appointment, access their health records, check test results, send medical messages, request medication re-fills, complete online questionnaires, use eCheck-in for appointments, and manage their personal information. The new MyChart will also offer integrated bill-paying services, such as paying for deductibles or setting up a payment plan for medical bills as needed.

Riverwood CEO Ken Westman comments, “With the electronic health record transition, we are creating a digital front door experience that will give our patients more ownership over their care while adding convenience and time-saving features. Internally, this conversion gives Riverwood more autonomy and flexibility to adjust and streamline workflows and processes of care, all designed for personalization of the system to best fit our patients’ needs.”

Another change is the move to an enhanced reminder call system. This will enable two-way communication with patients, including secure texting to manage clinic appointments and more. Patients can select the communication channel that works best for them, whether that’s phone, email, or text.

For clinic appointments, patients will be able to skip the front desk check-in process and use e-check-in if desired. Tablets will be available in the clinic lobby to allow patients to check in electronically and then proceed directly to the waiting room.

Westman adds, “We would like to remind our patients to watch for a message to re-sign up for MyChart in mid-January. Staff will be available to make this a smooth transition process and answer questions as needed.”
