As part of its wellness program, Riverwood Healthcare Center recently partnered with Aitkin Acupuncture, LLC, to offer acupuncture services.
Acupuncture is used to prevent and treat disease, relieve pain, balance mood, improve sleep, decrease stress, increase fertility, and improve overall health and wellness. It is one of the oldest continually practiced medical modalities in the world.
“Thin, sterile, single-use needles are placed at specific points to tonify and promote movement of the body’s Qi, aiding the body’s ability to heal itself,” explains Jean Twomey, LAc, acupuncturist at Aitkin Acupuncture. “It restores balance by increasing circulation to an area, and opening energetic blockages, which manifest as physical or emotional symptoms. Acupuncture is an extremely versatile technique as it can be used to treat or improve a wide range of conditions.”
Twomey will be providing acupuncture services at Riverwood in Aitkin on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
