Christina Kramer, MD
Christina Kramer, M.D., a physician and surgeon specializing in obstetric and gynecological care, has joined Riverwood Healthcare Center’s OB/GYN medical team in offering a full range of obstetric and gynecological care including labor and delivery, minimally invasive surgery and wellness exams. She will see patients on Wednesdays in Riverwood’s specialty clinic.
“We are pleased to have Dr. Kramer join our OB/GYN team of providers,” commented Dr. Mark Heggem, Riverwood’s chief medical officer. “She brings another great provider choice for area women looking for high quality obstetric and gynecological care.”
Kramer’s areas of expertise and interest include high-risk obstetrics and complicated pregnancies, as well as laparoscopic surgery.
She has just completed a 4-year residency at Sisters of Charity Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecology, University at Buffalo, New York. In 2010, she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School, Minneapolis. Earning a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, she graduated summa cum laude.
Regarding her philosophy of medical care, Kramer says: “I enjoy providing care for women in all aspects of their lives. I appreciate that the field of OBGYN allows me to develop a relationship with my patients during important transitions in their life.”
On what attracted her to the Aitkin/Crosby area, she responds: “I appreciate the sense of community in this area. I grew up just west of the Twin Cities and my grandfather lives in Longville.”
Kramer recently moved to the area with her husband, Ryan, and two daughters, Rachel, 4, and Eleanor, 2. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and exploring the outdoors via running, hiking and camping. Other hobbies include cooking and experimenting with new recipes, cross-stitching and other crafts.
