Since 1984, the Riverwood Auxiliary has annually honored and memorialized the loved ones of area residents with the Lights of Love program, including a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in the lobby of the hospital.
This year’s ceremony will take place on Sun., Nov. 19, at 1:00 p.m. in the hospital lobby. A short program will include music by the First Lutheran youth band with light refreshments to follow.
Honorary chairpersons Katie Nelson and Paula Eklund-Fisher will flip the switch on the Lights of Love Christmas tree, which will be on display in the hospital lobby through the holiday season.
Names of loved ones for whom lights have been purchased this holiday season are listed on a scroll located in the hospital and support services lobbies through the end of the year.
Lights that decorate the Christmas tree can be purchased for a minimum donation of $5 in honor or in memory of someone. Download donation form here. The forms are also available for pick up at the hospital’s lobby front desk or at the gift shop.
Funds raised will be used to fulfill the Auxiliary’s ongoing commitment to the health and well-being of the community. The holiday season is a great time to recognize loved ones, coworkers, friends or anyone who has made a difference in your life.
