Office Shop donates to Kids with Cancer Fund

Dr. Chuck Schotzko and Zach Johnson

The Office Shop, owned by Jodie and Scott Johnson of Aitkin, recently donated $10,000 to the Zachary Johnson Kids with Cancer Fund at Riverwood Foundation.

Named after Zachary Johnson, Jodie and Scott Johnson’s son who was diagnosed with leukemia at age 10 months, this fund offers grants to families with a dependent child age 18 or under who has any form of cancer. The gift is to be used for anything that the patient or caregiver wishes.

Dr. Chuck Schotzko, Riverwood family physician who recently retired, offered tremendous support to the family as he helped guide Zach through his cancer and other healthcare needs.

Jodie Johnson comments: “Dr. Schotzko was always there for us, day and night, no matter what.”

Dr. Schotzko said of his relationship with Zachary, “I delivered Zachary so it was really difficult to watch as problems unfolded. But part of what is so beneficial about a small town hospital like Riverwood is that as a physician, I was able to really provide the kind of emotional support that the family needed during these difficult times.”
